Our 3 Pile Method
When we help clear a home, shed, garage or property, we encourage people to sort items into 3 simple piles:
1. Rubbish Pile
This is for anything broken, damaged, unusable, expired, or no longer needed.
These are the things taking up space without adding value to your life. Old packaging, broken furniture, ruined household items, unusable materials, and general waste all go here.
This pile is about letting go of what is no longer serving you.
2. Keep Pile
This is for the things that still matter.
If it is useful, meaningful, or truly brings you joy, it belongs in the keep pile. These are the items that deserve a place in your home because they have purpose or make you smile.
A simple question to ask is:Does this item still serve me or spark joy?
If the answer is yes, keep it.
3. Donation Pile
This is for the things that are still in good condition but no longer needed by you.
Someone else may be able to use and appreciate these items. Clothes, homewares, furniture, toys, and other quality goods can often be donated instead of thrown away.
This pile helps reduce waste while giving useful items a second life.
Why This Method Works
